Auto Renewal

Unless you specify otherwise, all domain names held by Net Visuals are automatically renewed and invoiced for the set renewal period (e.g. .co.uk - 2 years, .com - 1 year).

What Is A Domain Name?

When a website is set-up it is given what is called an IP address which is in the format of a 4 octet number such as 110.192.131.142. As you can images to remember websites by the numbers alone would be quite a task, so DNS was developed (Domain Name Service) and what this does is map a rememberable name to that number such as www.netvisuals.co.uk. which makes it so much easier to remember and easier to use. The domain name is the part after www. so in this case netvisuals.co.uk is the domain name.

How Do I Setup A Website?

First of all you should check to see if the name of your business or chosen domain name is available from the domain name registrar using our search facility here. Once you have found the domain name you would like and it is available for purchase please proceed to complete the checkout. You will be invoiced for payment

Once we have secured payment we will set-up a hosting account for you to your requirements in preparation for us to host your website or design one on your behalf. It is as easy as that.

Who Owns The Domain Name That I Purchase?

The domain name is always owned by the domain name registrar database, however on purchasing you recieve exclusive rights to using, transferring and advertising that domain. You have full control for the duration of the purchase period which can be anything from 1 year to 10 years or more. All you will need to do is pay any renewal fee to renew your rights to use that domain when it expires.

I Already Have A Domain Name, Can I Transfer It To Net Visuals?

Yes. In some cases where the domain name is near renewal it may cost you a renewal fee when you transfer it. Usually your current domain name host will not charge you to transfer the domain name.

Which is better, .co.uk, .com, .net, .info, or .org?

That really depends on what you are using the domain name for and remember most companies and sites use the original .com domain name so this can be a competitive area.

I would suggest if you are a small business, go for a .co.uk domain name, a large corporate company, go for a .com domain name (this is the topmost domain type available), and if .com is unavailable the next one should be a .net domain. If you are an organisation, charitable or otherwise then the .org domain name should be suitable.
